Things we enjoyed at camp

At "Frog" camp in October 1996 these were our favourite activities. You might like to try them too!

Water Games

Cup Chaos
Equipment Required: A supply of plastic cups, water and two buckets per team.
Players sit in relay formation, with a bowl of water in front of each team, and with the second bowl placed upside down some distance away. On the word "GO", the first player in each team fills a cup with water, runs to the far end, around their inverted bucket and back, passing the cup to player two. This player will have filled a second cup with water and must complete the course carrying two cups. The third player carries three cups ... and so on. The last player in the team carries all the cups to the inverted bucket and must right it and empty into it what water remains in the cups.

Baseball-oon
Equipment Required: A Baseball bat, supply of balloons partly filled with water.
The player picks up the bat and has the chance to hit three balloons bursting them as they are thrown to her. Score one point for each balloon burst.

Softly, softly
Equipment Required: A blindfold, a water-filled washing-up liquid bottle and a plastic cup of water.
Players are seated in a large circle, in the middle of which sits a player chosen at random. The player is the Guardian of the water and is blindfolded. The cup of water is placed just in front of the Guardian, who is armed with a washing-up liquid bottle. Players one at a time try to creep up to the guardian and grab the cup of water. If the Guardian hears the person approaching, he or she may try to squirt the attacker with water from the bottle. If the attacker is hit, she returns to the circle and a new attacker is chosen. If the attacker makes it to the cup without getting squirted, she should pick up the cup and empty it over the Guardian's head!

Magic Mud Mixture

Equipment Required: 5 Tablespoons cornflour, 3 Tablespoons water, food colouring.
Mix the cornflour and water. Colour with food colouring, don't add to much! It should be difficult to stir! This mud is great fun! When you press the mud, it feels solid and when you stop squeezing, it becomes runny.
