WELCOME from troop 402! We are a Junior troop from Crooked Tree Council in Traverse City Michigan. The 1997/98 school year was our first year as a multi level troop. Most of the girls have been together in single grade troops since the first grade. So this year as a troop of 4th &5th grade Juniors we learned how to work together with people of different ages.

Our very active troop consist of nine(9) 4th graders, five(5)5th graders,4 leaders and a very tired cookie mom (we sold 1271 boxes of cookies). We like to try new things so as a troop we completed 11 badges and a few self motivated girls did 3 extra on their own. We had three(3) 5th graders complete Sign of the Rainbow that they had started the year before and two(2) 4th graders complete it also. Our troop also completed the requirements for our Council Honor Troop.

Since our troop likes to try new things this will be one of our new projects for the 98/99 school year. we hope to do alot of hands on things both in Community Service and in Badges in the comming year. Two other new projects that we are excited about doing this year are the Troop Mascot program and Council Patch Trading. Our new mascot that we adopted at The National Cherry Festival that our area is famous for will be ready to travel in the first part of October after he meets all the members in the troop and learns about Girl Scouts his name is Cherry Bear. One of our leaders has gone crazy over Council Patch Trading this summer. In the fall she will bring what she fas collected over the summer and as a troop we will decide how to display them. When school starts and we begin our meetings we will work on constructing this page as a troop so stop back in the fall and see what new things we have learned. If you are interested in patch trading you can e-mail our leader atjlejones@gtii.com

Thanks for stopping and come back soon
