Hi! We are the 3rd Lakeside Heights Guides. We live in Pointe Claire,
Quebec, Canada. Our unit had 24 girls with 1 having moved up to Pathfinders
in June. We have three adult leaders and 1 company leader (my 13 year
daughter Linda who is also a member of the Pathfinder group here in
Lakeside Heights). Our group has 13 1st year girls, 10 2nd year girls and
1 3rd year girls. The girls are aged from 9 to 12.
We have done many fun things this year. We have had a winter camp and a
sleepover with a walk to the local swimming pool. We also had a backyard
camp after a day of cycling, lunch in a park, cooked dinner for our parents
and did a variety show. We went to Botanical Gardens in Montreal to see
the pumpkins at halloween and we saw the festival of the Chinese Lanterns
which was breathtaking.
We have participated in a District food drive and Christmas carolling for
seniors at a local seniors hospital. We made Christmas decorations for the
seniors.
We participated in the District Yellow Fish Road.
A few of us participated in GOTI and more participated in GOTA. The girls
were impressed with the number of messages we received from girls around
the world at the Thinking Day.
We look forward to another year of fun filled activities.
