Greetings from Brownie Girl Scout Troop 1541 in Glenn Dale,Maryland!

About Our Troop

We meet most Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at Glenn Dale Elementary School. We arelocated in Glenn Dale, Maryland in Prince George's County. We are part ofthe Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital. This year we have 16Brownies: 4 third graders, 3 second graders and 9 first graders. Ourleaders are Barbara Van Dyke and Monica Beck

Our Activities

So far this year we've hiked at Watkins Park, did a gymnastics clinic andsleepover at Multisport Gym, done lots of crafts, most recently ourindividual gingerbread houses, and we've earned the Colors and Shapes andGirl Scout Ways Try Its. We made Halloween decorations for the patients atthe Larkin-Chase Nursing Home and we worked on the Salvation Army ChristmasStocking service project. Coming up we have a trip to the Owens ScienceCenter, an international pot-luck dinner for Thinking Day, a visit to theCommon Threads Expo at Prince George's Community College and a camping tripto Brighton Woods. We'll be working on several service projects includingValentines for Veterans and collecting coupons for the Learnshoporganization. In the spring we will be camping again, working on more TryIts and patch programs and of course more service projects.

Late Breaking News

There will be no meeting on Wednesday, January 10--the blizzard has kept theschool building closed.

There will be no meeting on Wednesday, January 24 due to the Science FairInformation meeting at the school.

Our trip to the Owens Science Center is scheduled for Saturday, January 27.We will meet at the Science Center at 8:45 a.m.

Cookie Order forms must be returned to the troop cookie manager by January24.

Our camping trip with Junior Girl Scout Troop 717 will be held on Saturdayand Sunday, March 23 and 24 at Brighton Woods.
