leader
Chere
I prefer to think of my self as an advisor. These girls know
what they want they just need occasional advice on how to pull
all their plans together.
I've been in Girl Scouts for six years now. I became a leader
when my daughter Catie wanted to join Brownies in first grade and
there weren't enough leaders. I've been involved ever sence.
Along the way I've been at one time or another a coach and a
council trainer in addition to leading various troops.
We have moved around a bit because of my husbands work, and Girl
Scouts has always brought us to the best and most friendly people
in each new place.
The Home Front
I'm the mother of five : my oldest and the only boy is Eric,15,
my daughters are Catie,13(a Cadette), Christine,10 (a Junior),
Jackie,8 (a Brownie), and Sarah,2 years old. The two year old
believes she is a member of our cadette troop, and we don't tell
her any different.
My Other Life
I'm involved in United Methodist Women.
Serve as Youth coordinator for our church.
Head the nursery for workers at our churches youth night.
Teach the 2 and 3 year old sunday school class.
I'm a volunteer at our local Womens shelter.
In my Spare Time?
I love to read.
I sew,and have a passion for quilts and quilting.
I've recently taken up restoreing antiques and love bringing them
back to a useful state.
I have been collecting and trading Girl Scout Council Patches,
it's such fun to hear from other Scouts and I enjoy the beautiful
patches.
I enjoy surfin ' the net. I have found some very helpful
resources out there.
The Love of My Life
Dwight is a Reporter/Columnist for our local paper.
None of the above activity would be possible with out the support
of my loving sidekick.
He is all ways around to provide rides to and from.
And tries to remind me to say "No" occasionally so I don't become
over committed.
Most important,he makes me laugh.
